     Welcome to Issue #117, Constant Readers. We have another great lineup for you, which you'll find out as soon as I shut my pie hole and let you get to it. Here at Black Petals Editorial Headquarters, we are moving into fall and looking forward to Halloween.

     Last month, I took another motorcycle trip to Colorado, this time to scatter the ashes of a friend. Before he passed last year, he told his wife to have his ashes scattered in Colorado, but he didn't specify exactly where. He and I were riding partners on the Wichita Police Department, on motorcycles and we often took trips together, too. I took him to eight locations, including The Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, the summit of Pike's Peak and six different mountain passes on the Continental Divide.

    Mt theory was that since all moisture that falls east of the divide runs to the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico and all moisture that falls on the west side of the Divide eventually makes it to the Pacific Ocean, it would be a good way for him to continue to travel. So the entire planet is his to roam now.

      When it's my turn to go, I'm going in a niche in the wall of a mausoleum behind to bronze eagle statue at Resthaven cemetery in Wichita, about a mile from my house. My traveling will be over. Or maybe just starting. We'll see. Okay, I'm done bending your ears and the issue awaits. Enjoy!
