The Armageddon Feast: Poem by Joseph Danoski

The Armageddon Feast

Joseph Danoski

He was born war-torn from the belly of the beast;

The holiest of cities in the middle east.

Living constant conflict really puts one to the test;

With thoughts of escaping, defecting to the west.

He fought and loved his homeland, but now nothing left;

The wake of destruction, just suffering and Death.

Prematuraly old for all the tradgedy he's seen;

Even though, as of last week, only turned Nineteen.

It's time to make a change, and no, it's not naive;

To form a new regime with nothing up your sleeve.

He will be the Minstral in the middle of Jihad;

Instrument of good against everything that's bad.

We'll put down all the weapons, be our own police;

Pray for our protectors and finally have world peace.

Let's send out invitations to those we love the least;

Everyone is welcome at Armageddon's feast.

Let's banish war and madness, all our hate and fears;

Get busy and rebuild, repair this vale of tears.

Let everyone bring something special to the feast;

Rising of the western sun setting in the east.

We'll have Festivals, singing, dancing in the street;

Celebrating Life in the middle of defeat.

Let us raise a new flag over rulers we unseat;

Lift high the olive branch and blessed stalks of wheat.
